Why "the pocket"

My name is Lars Ommen. Take the l off "Lars", glue it onto "Ommen", and you get lommen — which also happens to be a real Danish word: lommen means "the pocket". It's the nickname I've been using online for years. This site is the English-language counterpart to lommen.one.

What this site is about

I do most of my offensive-security practice on training platforms — the kind of attack patterns you can't responsibly try on production systems. The goal isn't badges; it's building the habit of thinking like an attacker so I can write better defenses.

That second half — better defenses — is the connection back to ommen.it, where I write about security being part of software development rather than something you bolt on after.

On this site

  • TryHackMe — my profile and what I've been working through.

Room writeups, CTF notes, and tooling will land here as I have time to clean them up.

My other sites

  • ommen.it — security as part of software development. Tribute site, English.
  • ommen.dk — personal site, AI use, research, about me. Bilingual (EN/DA).
  • lommen.one — Danish-language counterpart to this site.
